ytd, was feeling chao unglam but went out with auntieyanyu anyway.

went to j8, long john's to eat.
i am officially broke.

suddenly all the food seems neverending.

ended up at the arcade place :D
omg we won a bear!
with $2 eh!

so we're co-owning the bear :D
the bear is damn cute!
and we named it WAFFLES (:
haha.

oh and i played the sweets thing.
you know the machine then put in coin then push sweets out yeah.
quite pro leh!
like 35 sweets for one buck.
not bad, not bad(:

haha then went to bishan library.
for the first time in my life.
it's quite nice luh.
but everyone who went there before tells me that it's useless for research and stuff?

lol anyway i just went to read books la. and auntie was reading her ss notes and complaining and complaining and complaining to me.

1. housewife down

it's about this woman who is in a very bad marriage and her husband always verbally abuses her, diminishes her self worth etc and she's in denial and thinks that she is lucky to have such a good marriage just cos she's living comfortably then when she hears a radio talk show she suddenly realises her situation and she cant take it anymore, insults her husband while they're having a dinner party by saying he cant pass a driving test anymore, her husband's damn angry and takes the test the next day. he crashed the car and died. she finds a diamond ring amongst her husband's belongings and it doesnt fit her. she realises he had another woman, and realises that some while back when his aunt died and he told her he didnt get any inheritance at all, actually he got like 2mil. and he went to great lengths to let her remain unaware, but now she's getting it all.

2. chocolat

it's written in two main perspectives in respective chapters, one of a woman who has a daughter and travels around the world with her but now has came to settle down in a quaint little village and has opened a chocolate shop there. the other is in the church guy's perspective and he's enraged with the woman cos the woman is causing reformations in the village, eg she helped this woman whose husband is super mean to her leave him, and she becomes friends with the gypsies whom the church opposes etcetc. eh i did a bad job of summarising but this book is super enchanting and interesting and talks about religions and beliefs and human/social context and all that as well.
